What do you get when you combine 2 very active boys with a two year old girl who absolutely adores and worships them? This family of 5. I was especially happy to meet them after doing a session with Trang’s brother’s family a month or so ago. They kept me on my toes in a good way. I loved the energy they brought, and I was especially loving the bright colors they wore.

Smiling NewbornApril 22nd, 2009Back in February I had the pleasure of doing Janice’s maternity session. I was so happy to go back and see little Josephine who was born a week ago. She is astonishingly beautiful, and gave me the biggest newborn smiles I’ve ever seen. How could you not love this picture? I love a confident woman. |

Family of Four at the BeachApril 21st, 2009It was a gorgeous day to go to the beach, and who better to meet there than the Call family? I’m wishing I was back there right now because it’s so incredibly hot here today. Once again it was so hard to choose which pictures to share, and if I liked them better in color [...] |
It was a gorgeous day to go to the beach, and who better to meet there than the Call family? I’m wishing I was back there right now because it’s so incredibly hot here today. Once again it was so hard to choose which pictures to share, and if I liked them better in color or black and white.

It’s all in the DetailsApril 19th, 2009I found myself in a photo rut. I used to be the queen of pictures, and had scrapbooks of all of my kids up to date and perfectly organized. I found myself in a photo rut. I used to be the queen of pictures, and had scrapbooks of all of my kids up to date and perfectly organized. It’s funny how a photo business, 3 kids, a pregnancy, and just life in general seems to change all of that. I was reading one of my favorite photography blogs, and it inspired me to see what I might consider mundane, or repetitive things around my house as beautiful. Davina takes a picture a day, and occasionally shares them on her blog. She doesn’t line up her 4 kids in front of the pretty rose bush in the backyard and ask them to smile pretty. Instead she looks around her home at what is already there, and documents it. It might be her daughter yawning in the morning, or the breakfast table all dirty after everyone has eaten. I’m going to try hard to do something similar, although I already know it won’t be everyday. Our lives are so full, and sometimes I think we miss out on seeing what is all around us.

Easter is one of my favorite holidays. I love the pastel dresses, dressed up little boys, beautiful baskets, chocolate, pretty eggs, and blossoms on the trees.
Here are my kids enjoying their loot Easter morning.
Decorating cookies. Yes, that is frosting smeared across her face.
Here they are ready for church in those pastel dresses and tie I love.

Finally it was off to Grandma and Grandpa’s house for time with cousins, another Easter egg hunt, and finally a yummy dinner.

The cute girl above is my niece who came over before Easter and decorated cookies with us.

It’s a Boy!April 9th, 2009If you’ve been following my twitter updates located right above this post (and why wouldn’t you?) you may have noticed that I am expecting baby number 4. If you’ve been following my twitter updates located right above this post (and why wouldn’t you?) you may have noticed that I am expecting baby number 4. We are so excited to welcome a new little Campbell into this world sometime in September. I already have 2 girls and 1 boy, so this evens things out with 2 each. As I was watching the little guy squirm around during my ultrasound I couldn’t help but feel those butterflies of excitement bubble over at the thought of a new baby coming to our home. Sure it will be physically hard with 5 more months of pregnancy, and months if not years of sleepless nights ahead, but they are so worth it. It’s amazing how grainy grey movements on a screen can get you misty eyed. If you see me in the next few months waddling around with my camera at your session try not to laugh too much. I have a history of getting VERY large when I’m pregnant, and this one is no exception.
Just in case you can’t see it the baby is laying on his stomach with his knees tucked under him.
