She’s 6 years younger than me. We come from a family of 6 children, so there was always a lot of commotion and noise in our house.  Michelle was the one who was always calm, never quick to anger or get upset.  In fact my sister never speaks badly about anyone.  I truly admire her for her sweet disposition, her patience, and kindness.  She moved close by me not too long ago, and I’ve been loving every day of being able to go see her, talk to her more often, and have our kids become best friends.  To say she’s had a rough life in the past couple of years is a gross understatement.  I wouldn’t wish her problems anyone, but through it all she hasn’t complained. She keeps moving on and being an awesome mom to her 3 kids.  I think she should be the big sister, and not me.

She will not be happy with me when she sees that I’ve posted her picture on my blog because she’s a little shy, but I just had to.  That second picture in particular makes me smile.  I think I may even frame it to have around my house because I love it so much.

My second born is all boy. He’s messy, loud, and often breaks things. This poor boys is also prone to accidents. His knees are constantly covered with scabs from his many falls. I think he’s been to his school nurse more than any other student at his school.  Lets just say he’s well known in the office.  The other day I got a call from the nurse at his school.  Apparently he had fallen during recess and hit his head on the concrete. She asked me to come get him right away. You don’t mess with head injuries, and we were given specific instructions of what to look for in the next 24-48 hours. Luckily he didn’t have any problems, and the goose egg is nearly gone off of his forehead. It was only two days after this that he fell off a scooter wearing shorts and got a bad case of road rash up his leg.

Behind all those injuries and band-aids I have a sweet little boy who tells me he loves me everyday. He runs to greet me with a big hug when he sees me after we’ve been apart for a time. Of course he comes at me at his top speed and I’m often saying, “Gentle please.”  If only he could walk around with a helmet and protective gear all the time.
