Two of my cousins came to town from Missouri on vacation.  Heather is getting ready to go into her senior year in high school.  She wanted some unique to Missouri senior portraits so we headed out to the Ventura Pier for some beach shots.  She brought her big sister Emily to help, and also be in a few.  I have to admit being around those two made me feel really old.  It seems like just yesterday I was that young, but my life has changed so much since those days.  It was so nice to get to know Emily and Heather a little better.  I know they are family, and I’m a little biased, but I think they are some of the most adorable girls I’ve ever met, both inside and out.

I just love to see family love like this.  It reminds me of my cute little sisters, and all the fun we have together.

I am often asked how long I’ll be on maternity leave. I’ve finally decided that August 19th will be my last day to schedule sessions. For those of you planning Holiday Photo Sessions this year I have one more opening in August, and the rest will have to wait until October. I will open up scheduling for October sometime at the end of September. If you would like to be on the list to get notified when that will be please email me at julie@juliecampbellphotography.com.  I hope you will still be checking my blog during that time because I just know it will be filled with pictures of a certain special newborn that is growing larger and larger every day.  I swear he will be 15 pounds when he is born.  At least it feels like he will be.

And because I think all blog posts need a picture, here is one more of my girls. I’m so excited to get this one framed in one of the special frames I will be offering soon.  They are gorgeous, and you’ll see pictures very soon.

A few months ago I went out to see Felicia and her family at their home in Huntington Beach. I got to meet her husband, and their 2 children. I was thrilled when she called me and asked if I would photograph her extended family this month. It was so nice to meet such a kind and happy family.  The grand kids were nothing short of  100% cuteness.  I thoroughly enjoyed editing these pictures.   These two have 5 children and 3 grandchildren.  I loved it when Felicia’s Dad said, “I am a rich man.” He is indeed!

I couldn’t get enough of these two cousins together.

Open Fields

July 25th, 2009

My favorite time to take pictures is just as the sun is setting in the evening.  The colors are rich and warm as the sun lowers in the sky.  The other night I took my kids out into a nearby field to take their picture, and also have some fun with them.  As you can [...]

Nobody makes me laugh as much as they do.

Seven

My little boy was born 7 years ago today.  He was my largest baby (so far) weighing in at 8 lbs 1 oz.  Unlike his older sister he was very mellow.  He was content to just look around at all of us staring down at him.  His biggest obsession was eating.  He wanted to eat [...]

My little boy was born 7 years ago today.  He was my largest baby (so far) weighing in at 8 lbs 1 oz.  Unlike his older sister he was very mellow.  He was content to just look around at all of us staring down at him.  His biggest obsession was eating.  He wanted to eat 24 hours a day 7 days a week right from the beginning.  He’s still a pretty good eater.  In fact I would be very rich if I had a penny for every time I’ve heard, “I’m hungry,” and saw him opening up the refrigerator or the pantry.  His interests have gone beyond eating, and now he gets excited about Bakugans, video games, swimming, and watching baseball with Daddy.  Luckily for me he’s not too shy  to give me big hugs and tell me how much he loves me.

You probably had no idea it was feet week did you? Well over at i Heart Faces, a fun website where they host weekly photography contests, it is feet week.  These are fun contests for anyone, not just professionals.  I’ve never entered one of their contests before, but because I LOVE photos with feet, and take them often I thought I would enter this one.  The following picture is one of my favorites of just feet.  There’s a newborn’s cute little feet in the middle surrounded by his brother and sister’s feet on each side.  Go ahead and enter your own photo of feet, and let me know about it if you do.

She’s just beautiful and perfect in every way, and she was only 5 days old when I got to meet her.  She comes into this world to an awesome family who love her to pieces.  She has the most adorable big brother with to die-for hair.  Spending some time with her made me even more [...]

Summer nights are the absolute best! I love it when the sun is setting, the heat of the day has worn off, and it’s pleasantly warm. One of those nights we spent at a local park just playing games. You know the games we used to play when we were kids? I grew up in a neighborhood completely filled with kids. We would play outside after dinner.  We would get together on someone’s lawn and play games like tag, red rover, hide and seek, and duck duck goose. I have such fond memories of those days, and my neighborhood friends who made the summers the most exciting times for me.  The world, and our neighborhood is much different now than it was, but I hope my kids will have fond memories of our summer nights together.  They are pretty darn lucky to have their cousins to play with every single day.

This sweet little family came all the way from Atlanta, Georgia here for a summer vacation. Oh the sites they saw here in California. They went to Hollywood Blvd and Venice Beach on their first couple of days of vacation. Who would have known that on this small beach where we took these photos they would see some other interesting, and not so common sites. I had a blast with you guys. Thank you! I hope you’re safe and sound back at home now.

They hadn’t had family photos done since the kids were tiny. It was my pleasure to meet them, and get them those family photos! Time goes by too fast, and your family changes just as fast.
