Rainy Days

January 27th, 2010

I think there’s a song that says it never rains in Southern California.  Never may be too strong of a word.  It hardly ever rains in southern California may be more accurate.  I think that’s why we love the rain.  It’s a change from our usual sunny days that can get boring.  My dad has [...]

I think there’s a song that says it never rains in Southern California.  Never may be too strong of a word.  It hardly ever rains in southern California may be more accurate.  I think that’s why we love the rain.  It’s a change from our usual sunny days that can get boring.  My dad has always said we don’t need a weather man because it’s always the same here.  We laugh at the “Storm Watch” reports on the local news.  The reporters dig out their rain coats and go around town interviewing people about the rain.  Of course we don’t laugh about the huge increase in traffic accidents because people aren’t used to driving in any kind of weather, or the inevitable dog or person who falls in the LA river and needs rescuing.  At our house life goes on as usual, except that playing outside involves our huge umbrella, old hand me down rain boots, and jumping in the few puddles we can find.  Our winters are tough I tell you.

Ten

She’s my oldest, and she’s double digits. She turned the big one o on the 10th.  She invited all her friends over for pizza and games. As you can see below we decorated with lots of 10s everywhere in her favorite color.  Oh my it was loud in our house.  The giggles and high pitched [...]

As you can see below we decorated with lots of 10s everywhere in her favorite color.  Oh my it was loud in our house.  The giggles and high pitched squealing lasted for a good 3 hours, and at the end they still wanted more.  Those girls wore me out, but they had tons of fun in the process so it was all worth it.

Two

January 25th, 2010

Before Christmas I did this maternity session. This gorgeous mom now has her sweet twin boys at home with her, and I’m sure she’s much more comfortable. I was in awe at how great she looked being so far along with twins. Doesn’t she look amazing?

Baby Adrianna

My baby brother is now a Dad. My baby brother who is the youngest of 6 kids. Being one of the oldest I had the privilege of changing his diapers, and they were cloth diapers… with pins. I fed him baby food, made him bottles, and babysat him for my mom all the time. How can it be possible that he’s now someone’s Daddy? Well, he is, and she’s so very sweet and lovable.

Adrianna has a sweet story to her birth.  Four days before she was born our grandmother passed away.  My grandmother had red hair, and of course loved the redheads.  My brother and I had some red hair growing up, and of course my daughter now has it.  She has been the only grandchild with it so far, until little Adrianna was born. Coincidence?  I think not.

My Big 4 Month Old

January 17th, 2010

I’m smitten with this little guy.  He’s growing fast and furious these days.  He’s already over 17 pounds at 4 months old.  I remember that my daughters were 17 pounds at a year old. He smiles like this at me all day long. Each time I feel so grateful that I have him in my [...]

Baby W

January 14th, 2010

Mr. W has the cutest little chunky arms. He’s just too adorable for words. W is a new addition to a family I’ve worked with before.  You may remember the picture below from my blog and website.  Little S is now a big girl who is almost 2 years old. Their big sister is 3 [...]

Their big sister is 3 now, and such a fun little model for me.  I could take her picture all day.

Being  from Southern California where we barely have any seasons we have neglected to expose our children to the cold and snow.  That all changed when we went to Utah last week. As soon as we were far enough north that snow started to show up on the sides of the freeway my children were bouncing up and down in their seats giddy with anticipation of playing in the snow.  We had to pull off the side of the road in a tiny town for gas.  They just couldn’t stand it anymore so we let them get out to run around in the dirty gas station snow.  They were in heaven.

Once we arrived to our destination my aunt and cousin recommended the perfect place for us to take our kids on their first time sledding outing.  It was here where we spent hours and hours going up and down the hill, making snow angels, having snowball fights, and making a snowman.  We will have to take them to the snow more often because they had a blast.  I made my first ever video and photo combination movie.  The video portions are too dark, but I still like it.  Be sure to check it out below.  If you are reading this on facebook or through and RSS feed be sure to click here.

Baby Clara

I really enjoyed meeting this sweet little New Years baby last week.  She’s not only  gorgeous in every way, but also a natural in front of the camera.

Just like everyone else on the planet I find that the new year is a great time to reflect on the past, see what has worked, what hasn’t, and make goals for the future. This year I feel a sense of sadness as I do this because I received word that my paternal grandmother passed away.  Tim and I have decided we want to attend her funeral.  We will be taking a road trip to Orem, Utah in the next couple of days.  My children are thrilled that their Winter Break from school is now extended a few days.  I’m a little nervous to go on a 12 hour car ride with an infant., and Tim is excited to see the snow again.  In the spirit of reflection on this first day of 2010 I spent some time going through my 2009 sessions.  I chose some of my favorites for my annual slideshow.  I want to wish you all a very Happy New Year. I have a good feeling that 2010 will be just fantastic.  I have some new fun ideas for photography this year.  I can’t wait to meet new families, children, and many 2010 bellies and babies.
