We live not too far from the Underwood Family Farm where this time of year we can pick our own blueberries. I’ve heard friends rave about how nice and big, and inexpensive these blueberries are so we decided to give it a try one free afternoon. The kids had such a good time picking their own little container of blueberries. I even made homemade blueberry muffins the next day. If you know how lazy I am in the kitchen you will find that impressive.

Summer Fun

June 21st, 2010

This summer will be amazing. I just know it. The weather is perfection, and this year I have a new little one who is discovering everything for the very first time. Now if he will just stop eating the dirt, grass, and sand it would me much more enjoyable for me.

Fatherhood

I know as a wife and mother there is nothing as touching and special to me than to see the love between my children and their father. I am blessed beyond measure to have a husband who is completely devoted to his role as the father of our children. Every weeknight around 5:30 the kids hear the garage door open, drop what they are doing, and run out to give their dad a big hug and tell him all about their day.  I know they will never doubt that their father loves them unconditionally because he shows them every single day.  I know I’m the luckiest woman in the world to have someone who helps me raise our children as much as Tim does.

My job allows me a peak into your world. I get to see fathers and their children all the time, and I never tire of it. I went through some of my files and came across these photos of fathers with their children. I sadly realized I don’t have a recent one of me with my own father, and that made me very sad. I’m going to fix that, and get back to you. Until then enjoy these fathers and their babies, and have a very happy Father’s Day.

One Year Old

Baby Juliet

June 14th, 2010

I was so excited to meet little miss Juliet. I did her older brother’s newborn photos, and couldn’t wait to see her. I’m sure you’ll agree she’s just gorgeous, and she smiled for me more than once which always makes me happy.

My kids only have one more day of school. This year has flown by faster than any other. I am now finding myself looking for fun places to visit this summer while I have 4 kids at home. It’s going to be difficult to please everyone when they range in age from 10 years to 9 months. If you have any recommendations PLEASE let me know.  As always I will be sharing our summer adventures here.

Over Memorial Day weekend we went out to enjoy the warm weather with cousins and friends. I hope our summer is filled with moments like this.

Nearly 5 Weeks Old

My favorite thing about newborn sessions is seeing new parents with their babies. Every one is different and unique, but what they share is a universal love and admiration for their new little one.  They are always smitten with the new life they have in their home. I love the little stories they tell me about their baby, and how they laugh at their little quirks. It just makes me happy. I enjoyed every minute of my session with this family in their gorgeous home. I really do have the best clients.

Family

Growing up as one of 6 kids meant I was always surrounded. I didn’t have very much space to call my own. At one point I shared a room with 3 of my siblings, but most of the time I shared a room with my sister Angela. She and I are only 18 months apart [...]

Growing up as one of 6 kids meant I was always surrounded. I didn’t have very much space to call my own. At one point I shared a room with 3 of my siblings, but most of the time I shared a room with my sister Angela. She and I are only 18 months apart in age, so of course it makes sense to pair us up.  The only problem was that we had such different personalities. I was the shy, studious, neat girl, and she was the outgoing, adventurous, and (sorry Angela) messy one.  We fought like cats and dogs, and to this day I have scars to prove it.  Luckily we outgrew our differences, and I think we are much more alike than different now. No longer at each others throats, but best of friends. Last fall she moved here with her family after living far away for many many years. I’m still pinching myself with excitement that she and my other sister get to live so close.

These are her beautiful children. I love them like my own.
