I’ve seen these 2 every year for 4 years now. They are smart, funny, and have the most gorgeous eyes ever.

Welcome! I’m Julie, and I have the best job on the planet. I love my clients, and I can’t help but share pretty pictures from my sessions with them. I’m also fairly obsessed with photographing my own 4 little ones, and my wonderful husband so you will most likely see them on here too.
Be sure to check out the categories above to find exactly what you’re interested in, and click on “expand” to see the entire post. After that cruise on over to the contact section to let me know what you think or schedule a session. I can’t wait to hear from you.

My son turned 9 over the summer. He wants nothing more than to make everyone around him laugh with the stories he tells. He has a heart of gold, and it pains him to see someone hurt or upset. Of all my kids he is the first one up in the morning, and the last one to go to sleep at night. He just can’t stop moving. In so many ways he is nothing like me which makes it hard for me to understand him sometimes, and yet he has so many qualities I wish I had. These children of mine keep me on my toes. They are constantly surprising me.

Two Years OldOctober 11th, 2011It was a beautiful morning in August when Katie turned 2. Her parents took the day off of work to spend with her, and we played at the park. I’ve had the honor to watch little Katie grow through her photo sessions with me. I love her little wispy curls and her sweet voice. She [...] |

This morning I was cleaning the floors in my house. It takes hours and hours, and I put it off because, well, I hate to clean. It is my trial in life to have to try to keep my house clean. As I was walking through the newly cleaned wet floors I was reminded of when my mom used to clean her floors. She would wash her entire floor on hands and knees. Mops just swished the dirty water around the floor she would say. Sometimes if we were really lucky she would keep the floor wet long enough for us to slip and slide across the floor a few times before she dried it on hands and knees again. It was the funnest thing ever, especially on cold winter days when we were stuck inside (we lived in Utah at the time).
I remember we always had music on at our house. My mom was a big children’s music fan, and I will never forget the Captain Kangaroo record she played where he said my name in his songs. That was the best thing ever. So, this morning as I was cleaning the floors I opened Spotify and found some of the old Neil Diamond songs my parents always had on. Man, that was good stuff. I can’t believe I haven’t listened to that in years. It brought back so many memories from my childhood. We had so much fun with each other as kids. Oh I hope my kids have those same kind of memories.
Last July Tim’s sister came to visit from Texas. All of my in-law’s grandchildren were together. They have so much fun together during these summer visits. It’s like they are on a Campbell vacation. This year Tim and I picked all 8 of them up in our 2 cars and took them to a local park for pictures. We didn’t dress them or even do their hair. This is how they were on that day, and I hope these photos will remind them how much fun they had playing, laughing, running, and being LOUD. That’s what being a kid is all about. It’s over much too soon.

this is a recreation of one just like it done 3 or 4 years ago. I need to dig that one up.

I love this one taken by Tim.

Little Miss SunshineAugust 31st, 2011Way back last April I photographed this beautiful girl. It was one of my spring mini sessions. Here I am planning my Fall mini sessions, which will be November 5th by the way, and I remembered I never blogged this session. This was my second time with little Miss C. She has grown up so much. I can hardly believe it.

Luckily Mom jumped in for just a few. They are so cute together.

My Mom’s sister came out for a visit from Missouri, and it got me thinking about how different she is in so many ways from my mom. How can 2 people who grew up in the same home with the same parents be so different? Then of course I started comparing my sisters and I. Are we that different? Sure we have our differences, but I think we are more similar than different. Then I look at my girls. In a lot of ways they are like night and day. One is very shy, and one never stops talking. One is adventurous and ready to try anything new, while the other one hates change of any kind, and loves predictability. One can sleep for hours and hours while the other one has a hard time sleeping.
I often watch them and try to see little glimpses of myself in them, and yet all I can see is who they are. Their little souls are completely unique, and all their own. It still amazes me that I am the mother of these two perfect little creatures. It is nothing short of a miracle. I worry about both of them, just like my boys. What will become of them as they get older? What path in life will they choose? Am I preparing them to make what I consider the right decisions? Will they look back on their childhood and remember it fondly? Oh I hope so. I’m trying hard.

Happiness and JoyAugust 22nd, 2011These two kids are nothing but happiness and joy in small little packages. I had the best time with them at the Sherwood Country Club in Westlake Village. I’m sure their little brother (whose newborn session is here) will be just as charming. |

SummerAugust 11th, 2011 |
We are trying to squeeze every little bit of fun out of the summer that we can until school starts in less than 2 weeks. I’m dreading it more than the kids.

In other news, if you haven’t heard already on Facebook the wonderful and inspiring The Lens Loves has kindly featured one of my sessions on their blog. You can check it out here.
