Katie from the Rally Point Blog contacted me after seeing some of my images on Pinterest. She was kind enough to feature one of my military sessions from way back in 2009 on her blog.  I always find it an honor to photograph military families.  You can see the post here.

Recognition of Merit

November 3rd, 2011

I was so honored to hear that this image won a NAPCP (National Association of Professional Children’s Photographers) Recognition of Merit in their 2011 International Image Competition. It was the first photography competition I have entered, and it feels really really good to get recognition. The NAPCP is not only a great place for photographers [...]

I was so honored to hear that this image won a NAPCP (National Association of Professional Children’s Photographers) Recognition of Merit in their 2011 International Image Competition. It was the first photography competition I have entered, and it feels really really good to get recognition. The NAPCP is not only a great place for photographers to continue their education and network with other children’s photographer, it is also a great resource for parents. Their blog has a lot of helpful advice when it comes to finding a photographer, preparing for your session, and other parenting ideas. Take a look here.  Even I got an article published on their blog here about how to find good lighting in your home when taking photos.

Last week was hard. I had 2 very sick children all week. Those of you with kids know that when you have a sick baby it is 24 hours of constant care, especially when they are congested. I was going to doctor’s offices and pharmacies, and not getting any sleep which finally led to getting sick myself. It was just awful.

One afternoon while Tim was home for lunch I was laying on the couch trying to get my baby to sleep. Tim came inside and handed me a package that was left on the door. I had no idea what it could be, but was very pleasantly surprised to find the very first magazine cover I shot inside.

In case you didn’t pick up the December issue of Managed Healthcare Executive I was the photographer for their feature story about Health Care IT. It was different and fun to branch out into the commercial world a little. Even though it’s a magazine nobody I know reads it is still fun to see my work in print.
