Singer Extraordinaire

February 15th, 2013

This gorgeous girl is in training to be an opera singer. It was such a pleasure to photograph her for her senior portraits. She has such a great sense of style, and obviously she’s gorgeous. I can’t wait to see all that she accomplishes with her hard work. Best of luck to you Michaela!

August 9th, 2012

This high school senior portrait session took place just days before Frank graduated as valedictorian of his class, and a couple of weeks before he went to the  boot camp for the Marines. This high school senior portrait session took place just days before Frank graduated as valedictorian of his class, and a couple of weeks before he went to the  boot camp for the Marines. It’s always refreshing to meet hard working, dedicated, kind, respectful, smart, and ambitious seniors. Frank is a lot like his big sister who I photographed when she was a senior. It’s no surprise that these two are so amazing if you meet their mother. She is an inspiration with all that she does in her job and in her life.

Congratulations and good luck Frank!

Favorites of 2011

2011 was a great year for Julie Campbell Photography. I met so many new people, and saw familiar faces from past years.  In the past week or so I went through all of my sessions from 2011. I pulled out my favorites to update my website with. I thought about each and every client, the funny things that happened at their session, the changes in their lives, the reasons they wanted portraits this year, and how honored I feel to be a small  part of their lives.

I wish I could give them all large gifts of my gratitude, but it’s just not possible. I see these photos and think how nice it would be to gift at least one or two of them with an enlargement. So here’s my idea. I want YOU to vote and let me know which one you think I should give to one of my clients. Which one is your favorite? It doesn’t matter why it’s your favorite. It could be you like the facial expressions, mood of the photo, the lighting, or the choice of clothing.

You can vote by commenting on this post only between now and January 31st at 8:00 pm Pacific Time. Be sure to mention the photo number above your choice in your comment. Please do NOT vote more than once. IP addresses will be tracked, so please keep the voting clean.

PRIZES

1. The photo with the most votes will be gifted to the client as a 16×20″ enlargement mounted on styrene and ready for framing.

2. The photo with the second highest number of votes will be gifted as an 11×14″ enlargement mounted on styrene.

3. The photo with the 3rd highest votes will be gifted as an 8×10″ gift print.

Thank you for helping me decide and get voting!

As I drove to my session with Hanah I looked down through the hills above the beach and saw a thick layer of fog. I was dreading what I would find once I arrived at the beach. By the time I parked my car much of the marine layer had lifted and the sun was peaking through. I had high hopes for beautiful sunny filled photos, and I was not disappointed. The sun came out for our entire session against all odds, and we were able to get some gorgeous photos of this high school senior. I wish I had her confidence when I was in high school, but if I looked like she does I probably wouldn’t have a problem either.

Jamie is one of my senior representatives. If you are interested in a complimentary senior portrait session along with 411 cards to hand out to your friends contact me immediately. I’m going to be accepting a few more depending on what high school you go to.

Natalie’s senior portrait session was so much fun. She was like a breath of fresh air. We went all over the Ventura Pier, and had a great time even though it was really windy and cold. As you can see she is a dancer, and we wanted to highlight that part of her life. She and I are both huge fans of So You Think You Can Dance? I know I will be watching next year to hopefully see her auditioning.

Her brother jumped in a few photos at the lifeguard stand.

It’s really hard to choose, but I think the photo on the left is my favorite of the night.

Natalie changed into the tutu she made herself, and we went for a stroll along the pier, and on the sand. I’m sure you can imagine that people took notice. One man even stopped us and asked us, “Is that a tutu?”

Hunter is graduating from high school in the next couple of months. His family welcomed Tim and I onto their amazing ranch for his photo session last week. It’s gorgeous, peaceful, and quiet there. While we were walking around I kept thinking what an ideal place it would be to live – until they showed me the bear tracks, and told me about the bears swimming in their pool. That’s when I was convinced I was just fine in my small suburban house with neighbors all around me, and no bear tracks.

Check back tomorrow for more with Hunter, his 2 handsome brothers, and his parents.
