Another Thanksgiving has come, and is now over. We love Thanksgiving here. We decorate the house with turkeys, pumpkins, scarecrows, and fall leaves. Tim’s parents had us over for a fantastic dinner at their house. His mom is an amazing cook who somehow is able to get everything perfect. We contributed by making our favorite rolls using my Granny’s famous recipe. We also made lots and lots of pies because Tim can’t get enough of them, and now the kids have discovered the joy of pie. This year Emma helped me out in the kitchen. She has become quite a good cook. I’m looking forward to the day she can take over and do all of the cooking for the family. I can dream can’t I?
Every year we write down what each of us is thankful for. It is so fun to go back and read what we’ve said in year’s past. Last year we were thankful that Noah joined our family. Sophie was thankful for her dress up clothes, and Ben was thankful his Mom was a good baker (poor child doesn’t know the difference). Last year I wrote how thankful I was that my sisters both moved within a mile of where I live. Those two have been an unbelievable blessing in my life this year. I cannot ever imagine them living far away again. They are not only my sisters, but my best friends, my shoulder to cry on, and the first ones I call when I have good news. Because of them I want my children to be best friends. I want them to have what I have. Just as one of my children wrote on our list of things we are thankful for, I am also thankful that our family can be together forever. After all, does anything else really matter in the long run?

You made me cry. I feel the same about you. I am the luckiest person in the world for having my sisters. We are so incredibly blessed. I’m glad my girls have a sister too.
