My Girls

Just after the new year my girls both have birthdays. This year I took them out one gorgeous sun-filled evening together for a little photo session, just the two of them as newly 7 and 12 year olds. The light was magical, and they were their usual beautiful happy selves. We had time to talk, laugh, and enjoy some Campbell girl time. They are so much fun. I love their unique and adorable little personalities, they way their noses crinkle when they smile a real smile, and most of all that I get to be their mother. I will cherish these images forever, especially the ones of the two of them together. Having sisters of my own I know how important that relationship can be. I hope they are best friends their whole lives.

Mothers

These photos of my beautiful sister and her son were taken last November for a commercial project. I’m just now getting around to posting them, but I think it’s the perfect time. Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and Mom’s like photos of their favorite people — their family frozen in time forever and ever. 100 Years Young

This beautiful woman turned 100 last Fall, and we did a photo session with her granddaughters and great grandchildren. It was so fun to hear her tell the story of her life, and the whole time she never once stopped smiling. She loves to clean and take care of everyone else, and she is very much loved by her family.

Blake

The Davis Family

Last September I had the privilege of photographing Janel’s Family as her husband arrived home from a long deployment. It was such a privilege to be there and see the overwhelming happiness as so many families were reunited with their loved ones. After I posted the photos from that day on my blog I got such a large outpouring of kind words and requests to photograph more homecomings. I’m sure you’ll agree with me that Caryn is gorgeous, and her 2 little girls could not be any cuter in their handmade dresses made by mom.

I am still cannot imagine being without my husband for 7 months, especially with such young children. Caryn and all military families have my admiration and gratitude for all that they do. Be sure to scroll to the end for the slideshow.

Hanging out at Home

This adorable family was referred to me by a sweet client who earns lots of credits by giving out my information to her friends (make sure you ask about my client referral program). I was able to hang out with them one morning in their beautiful yard. My favorite sessions are the ones when the parents and kids aren’t afraid to laugh and play in front of the camera. The kids love it and their smiles light up all of the photos. Kids are so much fun just being themselves. They don’t need fancy props, expensive outfits, or elaborately styled sets for a successful photo session. I always love to see their personality, not an act for the camera. It may take some time to warm up to me and my camera, but it’s always worth it.
